Shawn Townsend

Shawn Townsend is a Managing Principal of Blue Vista and the head of the firm’s commercial real estate credit platform, Blue Vista Finance. In this capacity he is responsible for the development and management of Blue Vista Finance’s investment strategy, loan origination and portfolio management. Shawn has more than 20 years of commercial real estate industry experience, spanning direct investment and lending in commercial real estate debt / structured products and securitization vehicles, as well as the management of debt platforms.

Prior to joining Blue Vista, Shawn established the CMBS lending platform at Freedom Mortgage, where he served as head of originations and was a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to that he was head of capital markets at Gramercy Capital Corp, a publicly- traded mortgage REIT focused on the origination of middle market bridge loans and high yield debt investments. Shawn has also held senior origination, capital markets and portfolio management positions for commercial real estate investments at J.P. Morgan, Taconic Investment Partners and Nomura Securities.

Shawn earned a BS in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
