Marc Mogull, Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of PineBridge Benson Elliot, Joins Centre for Cities’ Board of Trustees

16 July 2024, London: Marc Mogull, Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of PineBridge Benson Elliot, the UK-based pan-European real estate fund manager, has joined Centre for Cities’ Board of Trustees.

Centre for Cities is a leading urban economics and urban policy think tank. The organisation’s mission is to produce rigorous, data-driven research and policy ideas to help cities, large towns, and government address the challenges and opportunities they face.

Mr. Mogull will remain Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of PineBridge Benson Elliot, the real estate fund management arm of global asset manager PineBridge Investments.

About Marc Mogull, Executive Chairman, Chief Investment Officer, Investment Committee Chairman, PineBridge Benson Elliot

Mr. Mogull’s 35-year track record (30 years in Europe) spans 20 countries, covering equity, debt, among other asset classes. In addition to his role as Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of PineBridge Benson Elliot, Mr. Mogull is a Senior Departmental Fellow in the Land Economy faculty at the University of Cambridge, Global Governing Trustee (and past UK chairman) of the Urban Land Institute, and an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Mr. Mogull is the immediate past chair of the Bank of England Commercial Property Forum, a position he held from 2016 to 2023. He advises the UK Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities through his work on the MHCLG/BPF Commercial Property Forum and through regular consultations with departmental staff. During 2021 Mr. Mogull served on the Expert Advisory Group for the Independent Review into the Valuation of Property Assets, commissioned by the RICS Standards and Regulation Board “to future-proof confidence in valuations.”

Before founding Benson Elliot, Mr. Mogull established and managed the private equity real estate platform at UK buyout firm Doughty Hanson & Co. A pioneer in Europe's emerging markets, Mr. Mogull established the property and tourism team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 1993. Mr. Mogull began his European career at Goldman Sachs, before which he was a Vice President with Chicago-based JMB Realty.

Mr. Mogull holds a BS in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and an MBA, summa cum laude, from Northwestern University (Kellogg).
